Bluebell Blossom is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Residential Worker to join our team in Bradford. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for children in residential care. You will work as part of a team, delivering high-quality care and promoting the welfare and development of young people, ensuring that their emotional, physical, and social needs are met.
You will be required to undertake safeguarding duties, support with day-to-day living, and promote positive activities. This role also provides the opportunity to work towards and achieve the Level 4 Diploma in Children’s Workforce, an essential qualification for career progression.

Key Responsibilities:
· Child-Centered Care: Provide individual care and support to children and young people, ensuring their needs are met in a safe and caring environment. Promote the emotional, social, and educational development of children in your care, respecting their individual needs and preferences.
- Safeguarding & Welfare: Ensure the children’s safety, security, and well-being at all times. Be vigilant and proactive in identifying any signs of harm, abuse, or neglect, and follow safeguarding procedures to protect the children. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies and procedures for safeguarding.
- Day to Day Care: Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and housekeeping. Encourage positive behaviours and provide support with setting boundaries, routines, and goals. Ensure children participate in structured activities, promoting personal development and a sense of achievement.
- Supportive Environment: Create and maintain a positive, caring, and safe environment that promotes the children’s confidence and well-being. Act as a positive role model, promoting respect, responsibility, and independence.
- Recording and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on children’s progress, incidents, and day-to-day care. Report any concerns, incidents, or issues to senior staff or management in line with company policy.
- Teamwork and Communication: Ov Work closely with colleagues, management, and other professionals involved in the children’s care (e.g., social workers, teachers). Participate in team meetings and contribute to planning and decision-making processes.
About You:
· Interest: A genuine interest in working with children and young people and shaping their lives.
· Experience: Previous experience in a care or residential setting is desirable, but not essential.
- Resilience: Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to challenging behaviour.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge: A good understanding of safeguarding policies and practices.
- Adaptability: Ability to work as part of a team and independently when necessary.

- Expected Hours: 15.5 hour shifts, rotational 2 on 4 off shift pattern, your shifts will include daytime hours, and sleep-in shifts (overnight).

Offering a competitive salary of £14.32 per hour, rising to £14.85 per hour after 1 year of service. All support work benefits apply to team leaders.
