We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our 3PL fulfilment site in Stuntney, near Ely.
This is a growing operation within an expanding business, so we are looking for somebody who wants to take ownership of the site now and develop with it as volumes, customers and the warehouse team increase.
The role currently offers a salary of £35,500–£38,000, with the opportunity for salary and responsibility to increase as the site and business continue to grow.
You'll be responsible for leading the warehouse team, organising daily workloads, ensuring orders are picked, packed and despatched accurately and on time, maintaining stock accuracy and dealing directly with our clients.
This is very much a hands-on management role. You'll be responsible for running the operation, but you'll also need to be comfortable working alongside the warehouse team when required, particularly during busy periods.
We are looking for somebody who takes ownership of the operation, makes sensible decisions, identifies problems and works on own intuition to resolve them.
Key responsibilities (But not limited to:)
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the warehouse
- Lead, organise and support the warehouse team
- Plan daily workloads and allocate staff effectively
- Oversee goods-in, put-away, picking, packing, returns and despatch
- Ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time
- Maintain accurate stock and inventory records
- Monitor stock discrepancies and resolve inventory issues
- Manage rotas, attendance, and day-to-day staffing requirements
- Train and develop warehouse staff
- Communicate professionally with clients by email, telephone, and platforms such as Slack
- Resolve customer, stock and order queries
- Work closely with senior management on operational issues and site development
- Maintain and improve warehouse processes as the operation grows
- Ensure retailer-specific packing, labelling, and shipping requirements are followed
- Maintain high standards of warehouse organisation, housekeeping, and safety
- Work alongside the operational team when required to ensure customer orders are completed
What we're looking for:
- Previous warehouse management, supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong practical knowledge of warehouse operations including picking, packing, stock control and despatch
- Experience using a Warehouse Management System
- Good computer skills and confidence learning new systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- The confidence to communicate directly with customers
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions
- The ability to remain calm and organised during busy periods
- A hands-on approach and willingness to support the warehouse team where required
- Previous forklift experience is preferred but not essential.
Experience within 3PL or e-commerce fulfilment, using Mintsoft, and forklift experience would be advantageous.
Opportunity to grow
Our Ely site is still developing and we expect the operation to grow significantly.
We therefore want somebody who is interested in building something with us rather than simply maintaining an established warehouse.
As the site grows, we expect the Warehouse Manager's responsibilities, team size and remuneration to develop with it.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of a growing warehouse operations and team below them and progress alongside the business.
