Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Meeting & Events Sales Coordinator to assist a busy hotel reservations and events office with the the planning, organization, and execution of a wide variety of events and group bookings.
We are a busy 157 bedroom hotel with 9 meeting rooms and are currently being re-branded so it is a very exciting time to join the team!
This role is perfect for someone passionate about helping people to create and plan memorable experiences, with a keen eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills. As an Event Coordinator, you will collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure every event runs smoothly from concept to completion. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will help elevate our clients and convert bookings.
Duties
- Coordinate all aspects of event planning, including venue selection, catering, entertainment, and logistics to deliver seamless experiences.
- Discuss guests needs to ensure we deliver exactly what they expect
- Work with the team to develop comprehensive event marketing strategies to promote events effectively across various channels.
- Ensure that budgets are met and ensuring cost control while maximizing quality and guest satisfaction. Also that the correct deposits and payments are taken.
- Oversee event setup so your clients needs are fulfilled, ensuring all elements such as décor, equipment, and signage are in place.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client needs promptly and maintaining clear communication throughout the planning process.
- Upsell additional services or enhancements to clients to elevate event experiences and increase revenue opportunities.
- Ensure group rooming lists are input correctly and the group needs communicated to the rest of the hotel
Qualifications
- Proven experience in meeting and events co-ordination within hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or fundraising environments. Maybe would suit a candidate looking to move from a front facing role and leave shift work behind.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable contracts and partnerships.
- Excellent marketing knowledge with experience in following up sales leads.
- Demonstrated ability in upselling services or products to enhance event value.
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail and time management capabilities.
- Familiarity with banquet operations, catering logistics, and guest services in hospitality settings.
- Effective communication skills to liaise confidently with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Experience in helping to managing budgets and contracts efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
