We’re a family-run building business based in Frome. We take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship, friendly service, and reliable results for homeowners and local customers. We’re currently looking for an experienced Bricklayer & Patio Layer to join our team.
The Role
As a Bricklayer & Patio Layer, you will be responsible for constructing and installing a range of brickwork and hard landscaping projects to a high standard. You’ll work as part of a small team and be expected to maintain excellent finish and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Bricklaying for walls, garden features, steps, repairs, and general masonry work
- Laying patios using block paving, natural stone, and/or concrete slabs (as required)
- Preparation of bases and sub-bases (excavation, hardcore, type 1, membranes, laying sand, etc.)
- Leveling, setting falls, bedding, jointing, and finishing patios
- Pointing/grouting where required and ensuring clean, neat workmanship
- Reading plans/specifications and following site requirements
- Working safely and keeping the work area tidy
- Assisting with site set-up and materials preparation
- Delivering jobs efficiently while maintaining quality
Skills & Experience We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in bricklaying and patio laying
- Ability to work to a high standard with minimal supervision
- Good knowledge of materials, tools, and best practice for hard landscaping and masonry
- Strong attention to detail and pride in finish
- Reliable timekeeping and a positive, respectful attitude with customers
- Full UK driving licence essential
Physical Requirements
- Ability to carry out manual work and work on outdoor sites in all weather
- Comfort using hand tools and power tools (training supported where needed)
