We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Conveyancing Paralegal to join our busy Residential Conveyancing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who already has experience in residential property matters and is looking to develop their legal career within a firm that genuinely invests in its people.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of two years' conveyancing experience and be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a client-focused approach.
About the Role
Working alongside experienced Conveyancers and Fee Earners, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth progression of residential property transactions from instruction through to completion and post-completion. You will be trusted to manage a variety of administrative and legal support tasks while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, client care and compliance.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering excellent service and thrives as part of a supportive team.
This role is based on 35 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting Fee Earners with the day-to-day management of residential conveyancing files.
- Opening new files and carrying out file administration in accordance with firm procedures and compliance requirements.
- Drafting correspondence and preparing legal documents and forms.
- Dealing with enquiries raised by buyers' solicitors and preparing appropriate responses.
- Progressing matters following exchange and completion, including liaising with fee earners, clients, lenders, agents and the Accounts Team.
- Preparing completion statements and supporting completion arrangements.
- Assisting with post-completion formalities, including Land Registry applications and Companies House submissions where required.
- Managing diaries, arranging meetings and appointments and supporting fee earners with workload planning.
- Speaking with clients by telephone, email and in person, ensuring a professional, friendly and responsive service at all times.
- Preparing outgoing post and documentation for dispatch.
- Undertaking legal research as directed.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring case management systems are updated.
- Supporting colleagues across the Conveyancing Team and providing cover when required.
- Assisting and mentoring junior members of staff where appropriate.
- Handling general administrative duties and incoming enquiries.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory, professional and internal requirements.
- Undertaking training and development activities as required.
- Supporting the wider business and undertaking additional duties appropriate to the role.
