Maintenance Operative – Hames Chocolates Ltd, Skegness
As a Maintenance Operative, you will help ensure the company’s machinery, equipment and facilities are maintained safely and efficiently. The role involves a mixture of planned maintenance, fault finding and general repairs, helping to minimise downtime and support the production team.
You will be working with Our Maintenance Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns and diagnose faults.
- Carry out basic electrical and mechanical repairs where required.
- Support production by keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.
- Work with external contractors, machinery manufacturers and suppliers.
- Assist with sourcing spare parts and obtaining technical support when needed.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Follow company health and safety procedures and maintain high standards of safe working.
- Carry out general maintenance tasks around the site as required.
- Work as part of the wider team to help keep production running smoothly.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and hands-on, with general maintenance experience and the ability to work independently. A positive attitude, good problem-solving skills and a willingness to support the production team are important, along with a strong awareness of health and safety.
· Is a multi-skilled operative
· Has previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
· Has a proactive approach and enjoys solving problems
· Has a genuine “pitch in” attitude and is happy to support colleagues across the business
· Can work independently and as part of a team
· Certification or qualification in electoral or mechanical trades (eg City and Guilds, NVQ) is advantageous but not mandatory
· 28 days annual leave per year which includes Bank Holidays and upto 2 weeks at Christmas.
· Full time, permanent position
· Monday to Friday – 8 am start
· Approximately 40-45 hours per week
· Pay: £28,912.00 - £32,526.00 per year, depending on experience
The successful candidate must be flexible, as working hours may include early starts or late finishes depending on business demand
