Assistant Management Accountant
Role Profile Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will support the delivery of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, statutory returns and financial analysis while playing a key role in the month-end process. You'll also contribute to the ongoing development of our ERP system and finance processes, helping to improve efficiency, strengthen financial controls and support the continued growth of the business. Main Responsibilities
Management Accounting & Month-End
- Support the preparation of the monthly management accounts, ensuring financial information is accurate, complete and delivered within reporting deadlines.
- Prepare monthly revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS 15, including deferred income.
- Support the monthly payroll process, including reviewing payroll reports from the external provider, calculating overtime, uploading payments to the bank, completing payroll reconciliations and preparing the allocation journals.
- Prepare and post monthly journals, including accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments.
- Perform key month-end reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
Financial Analysis
- Review monthly overhead expenditure, investigating and explaining key variances against budget.
- Prepare and review monthly KPIs.
- Statutory Compliance & Control
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns and perform associated VAT reconciliations.
- Support the year-end audit process and statutory reporting requirements, ensuring information is prepared accurately, on time and in accordance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain robust financial controls and identify opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.
Continuous Improvement
Work closely with the Financial Controller to identify and implement process improvements, enhance financial reporting, strengthen controls and drive efficiencies across the Group, supporting the continued growth of the business.

Experience required
The following experience is required:
- Studying towards or qualified by experience in AAT, ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent)
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to build relationships across the business
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
