Duties
- Develop and maintain detailed test cases, scripts, and automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, and Jenkins to streamline testing workflows.
- Execute various testing types including functional, system, performance, load testing with LoadRunner, and user acceptance testing to validate software functionality against requirements.
- Perform root cause analysis on defects identified during testing phases and collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot issues using debugging tools and techniques.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines leveraging DevOps practices with tools like Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, TFS, and Azure to accelerate release cycles.
- Conduct API testing for REST and SOAP web services utilizing tools such as Postman or custom scripts to ensure seamless system integrations.
- Participate actively in requirements gathering sessions to understand business needs and translate them into effective test strategies aligned with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) methodologies like Waterfall or Agile.
- Support system testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to verify that software meets functional specifications before deployment.
Experience
- Proven experience in software quality assurance with a strong understanding of SDLC processes including requirements analysis, test planning, execution, and reporting.
- Hands-on expertise with test automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit, and scripting languages like Python or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines involving Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps for automated build and test execution.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools like LoadRunner or similar for conducting load and stress tests on web applications and APIs.
- Experience working with various operating systems including Windows, Linux/Unix environments; knowledge of operating system commands is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of database management systems such as MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB; proficiency in writing SQL queries for data validation during testing phases.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis on complex issues related to software troubleshooting; excellent analytical skills are essential.
- Familiarity with service-oriented architecture (SOA), web services (REST/SOAP), XML/JSON data formats; experience testing APIs is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of version control systems like GitHub, GitLab, SVN; experience managing code repositories effectively.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a proactive approach to technical support and collaboration across cross-functional teams involved in release management and business analysis.
Pay: £30,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
