Overview
iSteel is looking for an experienced, commercially minded Digital Marketing Manager to take ownership of our website and digital performance, with a particular focus on Google Ads, SEO, analytics and conversion.
This is a hands-on role for someone who really knows their subject and wants the opportunity to take genuine ownership of a brand's digital performance.
You'll work directly with our Creative Director and alongside our in-house creative team, combining strong creative and brand activity with intelligent, measurable digital marketing.
We're looking for someone who can tell us:
What's working? What's not? Why? And what should we do next?
We're currently investing in a completely new website and CRM platform, so you'll be joining at an exciting time and will have the opportunity to help shape our SEO, tracking, analytics, attribution and digital-performance infrastructure before it launches.
Key Responsibilities
PPC & Paid Media
- Take day-to-day ownership of Google Ads, including campaign structure, keywords, search terms, bidding, budgets and optimisation
- Continually improve ROI and identify opportunities to reduce wasted spend
- Develop our paid social activity, primarily across Meta
- Work with our creative team to test advertising concepts, messaging and creative
- Analyse lead quality rather than focusing purely on clicks and conversions
- Optimise campaign landing pages and conversion journeys
Our ambition is to increasingly connect our marketing activity with our CRM to understand:
Click → Enquiry → Qualified Lead → Quote → Order → Revenue
SEO
- Own technical and on-page SEO
- Conduct regular SEO audits and identify opportunities for improvement
- Manage keyword research, rankings and competitor analysis
- Monitor Google Search Console, indexing and crawlability
- Manage metadata, internal linking, redirects, schema and website structure
- Identify new landing-page and content opportunities
- Protect and improve organic performance through our upcoming website migration
Website
- Take overall ownership of the day-to-day health and performance of the iSteel website
- Manage and optimise website content and landing pages through our CMS
- Monitor page speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile performance, forms and user journeys
- Identify technical, UX and conversion issues
- Work with our external developers to resolve more complex requirements
- Coordinate website improvements and digital projects through to completion
Other members of our marketing team will contribute to the website, but you'll be responsible for ensuring it continues to perform as it should.
Analytics, CRO & Reporting
- Own GA4, Google Tag Manager, Search Console and conversion tracking
- Develop accurate tracking and attribution across paid, organic, social, email and call enquiries
- Use data to identify opportunities to improve website conversion rates
- Analyse performance using GA4, advertising platforms, CRM data and Excel/other reporting tools
- Produce clear, concise monthly management reports
- Present performance and recommendations to senior management
We don't want reports containing numbers for the sake of numbers.
We want to understand:
What happened? Why did it happen? What have we learned? What should we do next?
Email & CRM
- Help develop email into a measurable marketing channel
- Support segmentation, automation, lead nurturing and targeted campaigns
- Work collaboratively with our creative team on email content and campaigns
- Track performance and understand the contribution email makes to enquiries and sales
About You
We're particularly interested in candidates with strong hands-on experience in:
- Google Ads / PPC
- SEO, including technical SEO
- GA4 and Google Tag Manager
- Google Search Console
- Website/CMS management
- Conversion tracking and attribution
- CRO
- Analytics, reporting and Excel/data analysis
Experience with Meta Ads, email marketing, CRM/marketing automation, Looker Studio and call tracking would be advantageous, but we don't expect you to be an expert in everything.
You may currently be working as a Digital Marketing Manager, Performance Marketing Manager, PPC Manager, Paid Media Manager, Digital Acquisition Manager, Senior Digital Marketing Executive or Senior PPC Executive.
Your current title isn't particularly important to us. Your ability is.
Agency experience could be particularly interesting if you're looking to move in-house, focus on one brand and take genuine ownership of its digital performance.
The Person
Technical ability is extremely important to us, but how you work is equally important.
We're building a small, collaborative marketing team and are looking for someone who is:
- Collaborative and open-minded
- Proactive and curious
- Analytical and commercially minded
- Confident enough to challenge ideas constructively
- Comfortable taking ownership and being accountable for results
- Able to communicate complex digital information clearly
- Keen to share knowledge rather than work in a silo
We don't want an order-taker, and equally we don't want a gatekeeper.
We want someone who listens, contributes, shares ideas and genuinely wants to work with the wider team to produce the best possible results.
