Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated team within a reputable care home. Duties
- Deliver personalised care to residents in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
- Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a positive team environment and ensuring high standards of care delivery.
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility, promoting independence where possible.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including updates to care plans and recording any changes in residents’ conditions.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive resident support.
- Lead by example in adhering to health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
- Support residents with medication management as per prescribed care plans.
- Contribute to organising activities that promote mental and physical wellbeing among residents.
- Utilise IT systems effectively for documentation and communication purposes.
- Drive residents when necessary, ensuring safe transportation for appointments or outings.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care.
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive residents safely when required.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of care planning processes and the ability to implement individualised care strategies.
- Proficiency in IT systems used for documentation and communication within healthcare settings.
- Compassionate nature with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
