Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of daily living care. This energetic role involves working closely with clients to promote their independence, safety, and well-being in various settings such as care homes, assisted living facilities, or private homes. Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to foster independence and dignity.
- Administer medications accurately according to care plans and document all medication-related activities diligently.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences, ensuring safety and enjoyment during meal times.
- Support clients with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing living spaces to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
- Monitor clients’ health status, observe behavioral changes, and report any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals or case managers.
- Implement behavior management strategies for clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s to promote calmness and cooperation.
- Drive clients to appointments or errands safely while adhering to traffic laws and maintaining vehicle safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in nursing home settings, home care, or assisted living environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, care plans, and medication administration procedures.
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are essential; additional certifications such as hospice care or dementia care are a plus.
- Strong understanding of senior care needs, Alzheimer’s care, dementia management, and case management practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for client transfers or mobility assistance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions and care plans accurately.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for safe transportation duties.
