Fibreglass Laminator
At Mould Ability, we manufacture high-quality GRP products for customers across a diverse range of industries throughout the UK. We're looking for a skilled and motivated GRP Fibreglass Laminator to join our experienced team.
As a Fibreglass Laminator, you'll play a key role in manufacturing high-quality composite components from start to finish. Working with a variety of products and manufacturing techniques, you'll be responsible for producing components that meet our exacting quality standards. This is a varied, hands-on role offering the opportunity to develop your skills within an experienced composites manufacturing team.
Key responsibilities
· Manufacture GRP components using composite manufacturing processes including hand lay-up and, where trained, Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM).
· Prepare moulds for production, including cleaning, inspection and the application of release agents.
· Identify and select the correct materials for each project.
· Apply gel coats and reinforcement materials in line with manufacturing specifications.
· Assemble composite components in accordance with technical drawings and work instructions.
· Carry out quality checks throughout the manufacturing process to ensure components meet customer specifications.
· Complete work to agreed production schedules while maintaining high quality standards.
· Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment in line with company policies and health and safety procedures.
Skills and experience
Essential
· Previous experience in GRP laminating or composite manufacturing.
· Experience using hand tools and power tools.
· Basic mathematical skills for measurements and material calculations.
· A positive, reliable and hardworking attitude.
· Good attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
· Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
· Willingness to learn and follow safe working practices.
Desirable
· Experience with Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM).
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
· Experience working within a quality-controlled manufacturing environment.

Location and working hours
This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Chesterfield workshop, conveniently located close to Junctions 29A and 30 of the M1.
Working hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Friday: 8:00am - 1:00pm
Overtime is available and paid at an enhanced rate.
