We are now seeking a Project Estimator to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working Monday to Friday, 7am – 4pm.

This is the ideal role for an estimator from a landscaping, construction, fit-out, or interior design background, ready to transform client aspirations into inspiring, commercially viable biophilic solutions. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you'll combine commercial awareness with design and presentation skills, guiding projects from initial brief through to specification, quotation and proposal – all while reflecting our core values of Care, Positive, Expertise, Creative and Accountable.
What You'll Be Doing
Client Consultation & Project Development
o Working with the Commercial Manager and Sales team to understand each client's vision, objectives, budget and project requirements
o Attending meetings with clients and third parties such as architects, interior designers and fit-out contractors to advise on design solutions, including site visits for larger or complex projects
o Acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the design and proposal stage
Design Estimation & Specification
o Interpreting architectural and technical drawings, live plans and project briefs to produce accurate plant specifications, take-offs and quantity measurements
o Specifying planting schemes, planters, preserved planting, moss systems, living walls and associated products appropriate to each project and budget
o Considering environmental factors including lighting, irrigation, maintenance and installation constraints when finalising specifications
o Applying sound knowledge of biophilic design principles and, where appropriate, WELL Building Standard principles
Commercial & Quotation
o Preparing accurate specifications and quotations using Odoo and approved templates, selecting products, materials and labour allowances that deliver commercially viable solutions
o Working closely with the Commercial Manager on bespoke specifications, supplier selection, installation methodology and project costing
o Ensuring proposals achieve required profit margins while remaining competitive
Proposal Development
o Producing professional, visually compelling proposal documents using approved company branding
o Presenting revisions promptly following client feedback until the preferred solution is achieved
o Providing ongoing technical support throughout delivery, and supporting tender submissions, PQQs and other pre-construction documentation where required
About You
To be considered as our Project Estimator, you'll need:
o Commercial awareness with the ability to understand project costs, budgets and profitability
o Experience reading technical/construction drawings or working from live plans
o Experience producing quotations and specifications for commercial projects
o A demonstrated ability to work at pace and deliver high volumes of quotes to deadline
o Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong organisation and attention to detail
o A professional approach when working with clients, architects, designers and contractors
It would also be beneficial if you had:
o Knowledge of biophilic design, interior planting and planting specification
o Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and/or SketchUp
o Experience within commercial interiors, workplace design, hospitality or landscaping
o Experience using Odoo CRM or a similar ERP/project management system
