Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Executive to lead a new team specialising in Professional Negligence Litigation within our well-established business.
You will be responsible for managing a small team and progressing negligence claims against professionals, ensuring meticulous case handling from inception to resolution. Your expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional legal services for our clients who are often based around the world.

Duties
- Manage a caseload of legal professional negligence claims against solicitors and possibly other professionals.
- Conduct detailed case assessments, including reviewing, evidence, and legal documents to formulate effective strategies to move towards mediated settlements.
- Document drafting for mediations.
- Instructing Counsel to draft necessary pleadings.
- Assisting Counsel in negotiating settlements with opposing parties to achieve favourable outcomes while maintaining professionalism and integrity.
- Liaise with clients, experts, witnesses, and external counsel to gather information and facilitate case progression.
- Monitor case deadlines diligently, ensuring timely submission of all documentation and compliance with court procedures.
- Provide clear updates to stakeholders regarding case status, risks, and potential resolutions throughout the litigation process.
Skills
- Proven experience in professional negligence or general litigation with a focus on negligence claims.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reach amicable settlements efficiently.
- Excellent analytical skills to evaluate complex legal issues and evidence critically.
- Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—to articulate legal arguments clearly and persuasively.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills for managing multiple cases simultaneously.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and court procedures related to negligence litigation.
