The role
We’re looking for a People Administrator to join the People team at ETEL, playing a key role in delivering an accurate, efficient and customer‑focused people administration service across the organisation.
Reporting to the People Administration Manager, you’ll provide essential operational support to the wider People function, helping to ensure a smooth and positive colleague experience throughout the employee lifecycle. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment, has a strong eye for detail and is passionate about delivering high‑quality service.
Location: Letchworth Head Office
Key accountabilities
In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
- Acting as the first point of contact for people administration queries from managers, employees and People Team colleagues
- Processing employee paperwork including contracts, Right to Work checks, leavers, resignations and reference requests
- Managing administration for family leave, employee relations meetings and absence documentation
- Supporting the People Business Partner team with casework administration, including medical certificates and return‑to‑work documentation
- Managing the People team inbox and post, including filing, scanning and logging documentation
- Maintaining accurate people data and supporting the production of reports and management information
- Supporting the wider People team with administrative tasks as required
- Working in line with company policies, procedures and values to deliver a seamless and positive employee experience
Skills & experience
We’re keen to hear from someone who has:
- Experience in a people administration, HR or customer‑focused administrative role
- Knowledge of good HR practices (or a strong desire to develop this)
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
- Strong communication skills and a calm, professional approach
- Confidence using IT systems and working with data
- A customer‑centric mindset and passion for delivering great service
- A proactive attitude with enthusiasm for continuous improvement and self‑development
A People Management qualification is desirable, but not essential.
