Deputy Activities Leader L'Arche Kent
ABOUT THE ROLE
Hours of work: 24 hours per week
Salary: £27,610.61 FTE. £17,670.79 pro-rata for 24 hours per week
Reports to: Activities Leader
Place of work: Community houses, activities space and garden project located in and around Canterbury. This role requires regular travel to various locations.
Contract type: Permanent. Part-time.

Main purpose of the role:
As a Deputy Activities Leader, you will undertake delegated duties and tasks assigned by the Activities Leader, thereby contributing to shared leadership of the Activities.
Along with the Activities Leader, you will help to develop L’Arche Kent Activities in line with the Activities Plan, including the Vision and Mission Statement Sept 2024.
You will take lead responsibility for developing the Glebe (garden project) according to the Business Plan and Vision.
You will also be accountable for the running of the Glebe in a safe, inclusive and productive fashion, ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
Key essential criteria:

Welcome new Glebe users, understanding their needs and ensuring that they are actively engaged in all aspects of the running of the activity.

Provide induction, supervision and appraisals for Glebe assistants, volunteers and users.

Ensure L’Arche Glebe users are placed at the centre and involved in all aspects of running of the Glebe and associated activities.

Plan and coordinate a programme of innovative and stimulating activities for programme users.

Welcome, facilitate and supervie as required, external groups using the site, including supporting the active involvement of L’Arche Glebe users in this role.

Ensure that there is a yearly plan for the Glebe in relation to the jobs that are required. Supervising and coordinating assistants and volunteers to ensure quality sessions are delivered which are value for money, well structured and regularly appraised.

Support Glebe users in line with L’Arche Kent policy, KCC contract and best practice; this may include supporting users with relevant care needs.
