Base salary: £36,000 – £41,000 per annum
Shift premium: £2,661.48 per annum
Weekend enhancement: £4,500.48 per annum
Total potential earnings: £43,286.48 – £48,286.48 per annum

The role:
We are recruiting Mechanical Engineers who will be responsible for meeting production needs in regard to engineering issues and breakdowns.
This is a full time role based at our headquarters in Kendal.
You will be expected to follow a 4-on, 4-off shift rotation. Day shifts run from 06:00 to 18:30, and night shifts from 18:00 to 06:30. No night shifts are scheduled on Saturdays or Sundays.
What you’ll be doing:
- Perform reactive and proactive maintenance on a variety of process equipment.
- Carry out regular maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, where directed.
- Troubleshoot breakdowns across a range of equipment to provide minimal downtime.
- Support Team Leaders and Production to facilitate production efficiency.
- Maintain documentation to provide historical records of breakdowns and PPMs.
- Ensure all required paperwork is kept maintained and up to date.
- Operate in a safe manner adhering to Health & Safety best practice, ensuring at all times, any risk to self and others, is kept to a minimum.
- Complying with safety procedures including but not limited to: adopting safe working practices, wearing the required protective clothing and use of safety equipment appropriate to the role.
What you’ll need:
- NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent in Engineering Maintenance or Manufacture.
- The job requires a time served engineer / fitter.
- Strong organisation and communication skills and the ability to work within a multi-disciplined team environment of varying levels of technical experience.
- Knowledge / Experience of working with controls, analysing faults, and providing solutions.
- Experience of both reactive and preventative maintenance.
- Must be flexible and adaptable to operational requirements.
- Some knowledge/training in electrics and hydraulics would be an advantage
- Self-motivated and be able to work with limited instruction.
