Based in Brackley, we are a modern collision repair centre working with private customers, insurers, fleets and accident management partners.
As a manufacturer-approved repairer, we are committed to repairing vehicles correctly and safely using manufacturer repair methods, appropriate equipment and properly documented repair processes.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Panel Technician / Panel Beater to join our bodyshop team.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out high-quality accident damage, panel and structural body repairs across a wide range of vehicles.
You will work as part of our production team alongside MET technicians, paint technicians, estimators, parts and customer service.
This position suits someone who can work independently, takes pride in their workmanship and understands the importance of following manufacturer repair methods and technical specifications.
Safety and repair quality come first.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle body and structural damage before starting repairs.
- Carry out panel beating and accident damage repairs to a high standard.
- Repair and replace bolt-on and welded panels.
- Remove, repair and replace doors, wings, quarter panels, sills and structural components.
- Carry out structural repairs in accordance with manufacturer repair methods.
- Carry out vehicle measuring, pulling and alignment where required.
- Use body alignment and jig equipment correctly.
- Carry out MIG/MAG welding, spot welding, bonding and riveting where specified.
- Follow manufacturer-approved joining and repair techniques.
- Work with modern vehicle construction materials, including high-strength and ultra-high-strength steels.
- Work with aluminium where appropriately trained.
- Identify additional damage during repairs and report it promptly.
- Provide photographs and repair information to support supplementary repair authorisations.
- Photograph and document repairs at the required stages to maintain a clear repair audit trail.
- Reinstate corrosion protection, seam sealing and other manufacturer-required protection processes.
- Work closely with MET and paint technicians to maintain an efficient flow of vehicles through the bodyshop.
- Complete repairs within agreed repair times while maintaining quality and safety.
- Carry out self-quality checks before vehicles move to the next stage.
- Maintain tools, equipment and working areas to a professional standard.
- Follow company Health & Safety procedures and manufacturer requirements.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Panel Technician who takes pride in repairing vehicles properly and safely.
You should ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Panel Beater, Panel Technician or Body Repair Technician.
- Experience within an accident repair or bodyshop environment.
- Strong knowledge of modern accident repair techniques.
- Experience with structural repairs and panel replacement.
- Welding, bonding and riveting experience.
- Ability to read, understand and follow manufacturer repair methods.
- Experience working with modern high-strength vehicle structures.
- Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to identifying additional damage and repair issues.
The following would be advantageous:
- NVQ Level 3, VCQ, SVQ, IMI or equivalent qualification.
- ATA/IMI accreditation.
- Aluminium repair experience.
- EV and hybrid vehicle experience.
- Manufacturer-specific repair training.
- Full UK driving licence.
Formal qualifications are desirable but not essential for an experienced technician who can demonstrate the required standard of workmanship and technical competence.
