We are looking for an enthusiastic and hands on Site Manager to join the team supporting Little Moreton Hall. You’ll take care of daily visitor operations and act as a duty manager with specific responsibilities around health and safety and visitor operations. This is a part-time (0.6 FTE) temporary role until 1 st November, and the days of work will generally be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
The interviews will take place at Little Moreton Hall on 30 th July 2026.
What it's like to work here:We are a small and friendly team working across Cheshire supporting a varied and geographically diverse group of properties, spanning from the Wirral in the west, to Alderley Edge and Hare Hill in the east and Little Moreton Hall in the south. This fascinating portfolio includes an iconic grade-1 listed Tudor moated hall, a garden at Hare Hill that is experiencing exciting developments, and vast swathes of stunning Cheshire countryside, including rare heathland and bronze-age hillforts at Helsby and Bickerton, and the legendary Alderley Edge. Castlefield Viaduct also sits, operationally, within the Portfolio.
This is a flexible role, based at Little Moreton Hall, but you may be expected to work at other sites at times. You will report to the Property Operations Manager.
What you'll be doing:You’ll be responsible for the running of visitor operations at Little Moreton Hall. You will contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, collaborative, and work environment focused on delivering the Trust’s strategy. You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager, the Cheshire Landscapes property leadership team, a team of Welcome Assistants and our volunteers.
You’ll carry out regular portfolio duty management according to agreed rotas and will be prepared to get stuck into whatever areas are needed to ensure the smooth running of the Hall.
You’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listening to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure visitors have the best day they can.
Who we're looking forWe’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Operational experience in a customer facing environment and/or historic properties
- Flexible customer focused approach with experience in delivery high standards of customer service.
- Strong people skills, enabling good working relationships with those in your team and across the property portfolio.
- Experience of assessing and managing risk. Knowledge of Health & Safety and compliance requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with diverse groups of people of varying ages, abilities, and experience.
- Able to work on own initiative without immediate assistance from manager.
- Able to respond to varying pressures, difficult situations and complaints.
- Ability to work autonomously with good decision-making skills.
