This role offers hands-on experience across property and facilities maintenance, working closely with a Senior Maintenance Technician in a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a practical mindset, a willingness to learn, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will support the day-to-day maintenance of our properties, helping to ensure everything is well maintained and running efficiently.
Duties
- Assist with general maintenance and basic repairs across residential properties and communal areas
- Carry out routine inspections to identify and report maintenance issues
- Support with basic plumbing, electrical, painting, decorating, and carpentry tasks where required
- Troubleshoot minor maintenance issues and escalate larger repairs when necessary
- Help maintain clean, safe, and well-presented communal spaces
- Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests from tenants or staff
- Work alongside senior maintenance staff on larger repair projects and preventative maintenance when necessary
- Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used or needed for maintenance tasks
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards
Skills and Requirements
- Basic maintenance or handyman experience preferred, but not essential
- Practical hands-on skills and a willingness to learn
- Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills and professional manner
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices
- Good spoken and written English
- Full UK driving licence preferred
