Job Details
Position: Qualified Nursery Practitioner
Job Type: Full Time
Salary: Competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience.
Reporting To: Room Leaders and Nursery Manager
Essential Qualification:
- An Ofsted-recognised Level 2 qualification in Early Years or above.
Main Responsibilities
As a Nursery Practitioner you will:
- Promote and uphold the nursery's ethos, values and high standards at all times.
- Deliver high-quality childcare in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Plan, observe, assess and support children's learning and development.
- Act as a Key Person, maintaining accurate records of children's progress and achievements.
- Complete learning journeys and assessments for your key children.
- Meet each child's individual care needs, including medical, dietary and sleep requirements.
- Record meals, bottle feeds and sleep routines accurately.
- Plan engaging indoor and outdoor activities that reflect children's interests and developmental stages.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
- Monitor children's health and wellbeing, reporting concerns to management in accordance with nursery policies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide outstanding care and education.
Childcare Duties
You will also:
- Provide stimulating resources and activities appropriate to each child's stage of development.
- Read stories, sing songs and encourage imaginative play.
- Support children during mealtimes and prepare bottle feeds where required.
- Carry out nappy changing and personal care routines respectfully and hygienically.
- Create attractive displays celebrating children's learning.
- Prepare and tidy resources before and after activities.
- Support the settling-in and induction of new children.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety throughout the nursery.
- Build positive, professional relationships with parents and carers.
- Share children's progress through regular communication and parent meetings.
- Work flexibly across the nursery where required.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, parent evenings and nursery events.
- Uphold the reputation and professionalism of Pear Tree Nursery both inside and outside of work.
