An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Neighbourhood and Estates Services team at Lewes and Eastbourne Councils.
This post will predominately be undertaken in Lewes District.
As a Neighbourhood and Estates Officer you will be the first point of contact to provide a rapid response to customers, preventing issues, and intervening early when they do arise, this will mean resolving issues on the ground and supporting customers.
Your main duties are:
- Inspecting our buildings including communal housing blocks, gardens, hard standing areas (including garages) undertaking block inspections using our PSS live database and general caretaking duties.
- This role involves the enforcement of a zero tolerance on items left within our communal areas to ensure that our buildings and communal gardens are compliant with fire and health and safety regulations.
- Provide a (low level) fixing and maintenance service across Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough and housing estates e.g. removing graffiti or obstacles, undertaking minor repairs, overseeing small works, arranging removal of fly tips, making areas safe and supporting the Neighbourhood Housing and Property Services teams.
- Ensuring that health and safety within the blocks are maintained and any issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- You may also be required to undertake a range of monitoring activities, including empty properties maintaining standards and carry out a range of work including patrols in all weathers and undertaking enforcement activities.
You will be working as part of an effective team across the Lewes District, ensuring a responsive customer journey using mobile technology to report issues and pick up tasks. You will need to be proactive, self-motivated, and well organised with excellent communication skills and the ability to use your initiative and will have a strong commitment to providing service excellence.
This is a mobile role which can be undertaken remotely at a variety of locations; to carry out these duties you will be provided with a Council vehicle while undertaking your duties therefore it is essential that you have a full, current clean driving licence.
