Garden House Hospice Care is looking for an experienced and compassionate fundraiser to lead the development of our individual giving, legacy, in-memory and lottery programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape and grow several important areas of fundraising, creating meaningful supporter experiences while generating sustainable income to support our hospice services.
As our Individual Giving & Legacy Relationship Manager, you will develop strategies that inspire people to support Garden House Hospice Care through regular donations, gifts in wills, in-memory giving and our lottery programme.
You will build lasting relationships with supporters, ensuring that every person receives thoughtful, personalised and timely communication that helps them understand the difference their support makes.
What you'll be doing
Working as part of our Fundraising Team, you will:
- Develop and deliver our individual giving strategy, growing income from regular giving and other individual donations.
- Lead our legacy fundraising programme, building relationships with legacy enquirers, pledgers, executors and professional partners.
- Develop our in-memory fundraising activity, supporting families and donors with sensitivity and care.
- Oversee our partnership with Local Hospice Lottery, helping to grow supporter recruitment, retention and income.
- Create effective supporter journeys that inspire long-term engagement and loyalty.
- Plan and deliver legacy, remembrance and supporter engagement events.
- Work closely with our Data, Supporter Care, Marketing and wider Hospice teams to deliver coordinated and impactful fundraising activity.
- Monitor performance, manage budgets and use data and insight to improve results.

We're looking for...
You will be an experienced fundraiser who combines strategic thinking with a genuine commitment to building strong and meaningful relationships.
You will have:
- A proven track record of successful fundraising.
- Experience of developing fundraising strategies that support organisational objectives.
- Experience of individual giving and regular giving programmes.
- Experience of legacy fundraising and an understanding of the financial controls and processes involved in legacy administration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence others.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience of managing income and expenditure budgets.
- Confidence using data, digital platforms and CRM systems to inform activity and improve supporter engagement.
- The sensitivity, empathy and diplomacy needed when supporting people who may be experiencing grief, loss or difficult circumstances.
You will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and results-focused, while also being a collaborative team member who shares our commitment to the vision and values of Garden House Hospice Care.
The role will require some flexibility to attend occasional evening and weekend events.
Access to a vehicle for work purposes is also required.
This is a part-time role for 20 hours per week.
Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum (pro rata)

Who are we and what do we do?
We are Garden House Hospice Care, the Hospice for North Hertfordshire. We are a multi award-winning hospice that puts the patient at the heart of everything we do. Patients on our inpatient unit are looked after by our specialist team 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We provide support and care to patients with a wide range of symptoms associated with a life-limiting illness, as well as their families. We support our patients by providing symptom control, psychological support and end of life care. Our high nurse-to-patient ratio ensures that patients are able to get the dedicated support that they might need.
