Complex Safeguarding Children’s Home in Darwen providing care for children and young people whose needs are too complex for standard residential provision.
Children placed within this home may have experienced significant trauma, including child sexual exploitation (CSE), child criminal exploitation (CCE), serious youth violence, and profound emotional harm. Some children may also be subject to Deprivation of Liberty (DoL) arrangements to ensure their safety and welfare. Many will present with significant mental health needs, emotional dysregulation, and high-risk behaviours.
We are seeking skilled, resilient, and compassionate Complex Children’s Residential Support Workers who understand the responsibility of working with highly vulnerable children within intensive safeguarding and therapeutic environments, and who can provide care that is lawful, proportionate, and firmly child-centred.
The Role
You will provide consistent, trauma-informed care within a structured residential setting, ensuring children feel safe, protected, and emotionally supported. You will work in line with individual care plans, risk assessments, positive behaviour support plans, mental health support strategies, and DoL authorisations, maintaining clear professional boundaries at all times.
This role requires:
· Confidence supporting children affected by exploitation, serious youth violence, and complex mental health needs
· An understanding of Deprivation of Liberty and restrictive care frameworks
· A calm, reflective, and emotionally regulated approach to risk and safeguarding
