We are seeking an experienced Clinical Lead - Paediatric Complex Care to oversee and support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care for children and young people with complex healthcare needs across London. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to families while leading and developing care teams within community settings.
As a field-based Clinical Lead, you will provide clinical oversight to paediatric care packages delivered within the home, school, and community environments, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight across paediatric complex care packages.
- Conduct clinical assessments, observations, spot checks, and competency evaluations.
- Support, mentor, and supervise Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers
- Deliver specialist clinical training including:
- Tracheostomy Care
- PEG Feeding
- Suctioning
- Airway Management
- Ventilation Support (where applicable)
- Mobilise and establish new care packages.
- Work closely with children, families, Case Managers, schools, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure care plans are implemented effectively and reviewed regularly.
- Identify clinical risks and implement improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical records and reporting.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN) or Registered Nurse (RGN) with substantial paediatric complex care experience.
- Proven experience within paediatric complex care, community care, or continuing care services.
- Strong clinical knowledge of:
- Tracheostomy Care
- PEG Feeding
- Suctioning
- Airway Management
- Experience supporting, training, and developing care staff.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple care packages.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel throughout London.
