Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Registered Manager to lead our supported living services. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible not only for the day-to-day operational management of services but also for supporting and delivering on our strategic growth plans.
The ideal candidate will be confident in managing complex care settings, experienced with commissioning teams and professionals, and excited by the opportunity to scale our services from 1,000 to 10,000 care hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead and manage supported living services in line with CQC requirements and BSL Care values.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance and work toward achieving and maintaining a "Good" or "Outstanding" CQC rating.
- Oversee person-centred care planning and support delivery that promotes independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
- Manage rota planning, staff performance, resource allocation, and service development.
- Embed safeguarding practices and ensure robust risk management across all services.
- Maintain high standards of service delivery through audits, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
- Handle complaints, incidents, and feedback with professionalism and transparency.
- Build positive, lasting relationships with individuals we support, their families, and external stakeholders.
Team Management
- Recruit, train, lead, and support high-performing care teams.
- Provide ongoing supervision, mentorship, and leadership development.
- Ensure that service teams reflect and uphold person-centred care and organisational values.
Strategic Growth & Service Development
- Manage and stabilise existing services (e.g., current users and staff team at Scraptoft).
- Oversee and support referrals:
- Fill Alcester Road bungalow with suitable 2:1 referrals.
- Work with marketing and referral networks to fill the new development in South Wigston.
- Build and maintain referral pipelines through partnerships, DPS systems, and commissioner engagement.
- Support the development of upcoming services including:
- Bodnant Avenue (5 flats)
- Dupont Gardens (4 new bungalows)
- Collaborate on service expansions, including potential new LD units and younger adult specialisms.
- As growth progresses, help define future structure—potentially stepping into an Operations Lead or Head of Care role.
What Success Looks Like – Year 1 Goals
- All existing services stabilised and operating effectively.
- Alcester Road and The Grand filled with sustainable care packages.
- Foundations laid for Stage 2 of the growth plan (e.g., Bodnant Avenue and LD unit development).
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Registered Manager or in a senior leadership role within adult social care.
- Strong background in supporting adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and behaviours that challenge.
- Proven track record of achieving strong CQC outcomes.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent/working towards).
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding, CQC regulations, and health & safety legislation.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple services and a dispersed team.
- Ambition and capability to support organisational growth alongside operational stability.
