Job Summary
Whiteghyll is seeking a skilled Wet Paint Sprayer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience preferably in a joinery/display environment. The applicant will also possess a strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality finishes. As a Wet Paint Sprayer, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing paints, and applying coatings to various structures and surfaces. This role requires both creativity and technical skills to ensure that all painting tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or imperfections.
- Matching and mixing primers and base colours according to specifications
- Applying primers and base coats, using HVLP gravity fed guns and airless spray equipment
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organised during the painting process.
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance and make necessary touch-ups.
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time.
- Maintaining of spray equipment, booths, and other tools
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge to understand the operation of various tools and equipment
- Basic maths skills for measuring areas and calculating quantities of materials needed.
- Experience with hand tools for surface preparation and finishing tasks.
- A good basic understanding of different paint types, ie water based and pre catalysed paints.
- Good attention to detail with high end quality
- Strong painting skills with an eye for detail in colour matching and application techniques.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues related to paint application and quality
- Work effectively with others in a production environment
- Understand and adhere to safety regulations and procedures
