Lead Our Crumbed & Breaded Fish Manufacturing Operation
We are a well-established and growing seafood business supplying high-quality products to customers across the UK. We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Factory Manager to lead our crumbed and breaded fish manufacturing operation in Hull.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of the factory, ensuring high standards of food safety, quality, people management and operational performance.
The successful candidate will bring significant experience from seafood or food manufacturing and possess a strong understanding of crumbed and breaded fish production processes, including fish preparation, battering, crumbing, breading, frying, freezing and packing.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Leading the day-to-day running of the factory to deliver operational excellence.
- Managing production performance, labour utilisation, yields, waste reduction and productivity.
- Driving a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and employee engagement.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, quality and customer standards.
- Working closely with Technical, Engineering, Planning, NPD and Commercial teams.
- Leading, coaching and developing production managers, team leaders and factory colleagues.
- Delivering operational KPI targets while maintaining a strong health and safety culture.
- Supporting business growth through continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation.
What We're Looking For
Essential
Significant leadership experience within seafood processing, crumbed and breaded fish production or food manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of crumbed and breaded fish manufacturing processes.
Proven experience leading large operational teams within a fast-paced factory environment.
Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, quality systems and customer compliance requirements.
Experience managing operational KPIs including productivity, yields, labour efficiency and waste.
Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
A hands-on leadership style with the ability to drive performance and accountability.
Desirable
- Food Safety Level 3 or equivalent.
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
- BRCGS manufacturing experience.
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
- Experience supplying major UK retailers or foodservice customers.
