Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance to nine individuals with various mental health needs in our care home based in Weston-Super-Mare.
This role involves working closely with adults, supporting their daily activities, and promoting their independence in a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in making a positive difference in people's lives and possess relevant experience or a willingness to learn.
Duties
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, such as personal care (low level)
- Cooking/meal preparation for the 8 individuals that live in the care home
- Administer medication as prescribed, following all health and safety protocols
- Cleaning/ housekeeping around the home
- Monitor and record behavioural progress and health status accurately
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to promote confidence and independence
- Collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and educational staff to ensure holistic care plans are followed
Requirements
- Experience working with adults with mental health is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including some evenings and weekends
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in healthcare, social care, or related fields are beneficial but not mandatory
