KITCHEN ASSISTANT / TRAINEE COOK
We are looking for someone to support our team of Chefs throughout daily service. If you have experience of working in a commercial kitchen and are interested in career progression within the food industry we would like to hear from you.
As Kitchen Assistant you would be responsible for food preparation under the guidance of our Head and Sous Chefs. Duties will include;
- Preparation of ingredients for the daily menu
- Preparing simple dishes
- Observing correct cooking times and temperatures
- Using kitchen equipment, utensils, knives, mixers etc.
- Stocking and replenishing workstations
- Restocking stores and chillers
- Maintaining EHO compliance
- Keeping working areas clean and tidy
The role offers;
- Development training progressing to Cook under the guidance of Head and Sous Chef
- Day time shift pattern working 08:30 – 16:30, averaging 32 hours per week (includes alternate weekends)
- Flexible hours may be available (for discussion with Head Chef)
You should have;
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Effective organisational skills
- The ability to work effectively within a team and also be able to use your own initiative
- Have a keen interest in the food industry
- A positive attitude and an interest in career progression
- Your own transport
Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
