Welder/Pipefitter
Esterchem Ltd, a family-owned company who specialise in the manufacture of organic Esters.
A vacancy has arisen for the position of Welder/Pipefitter, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager.
This is a full-time position - 40 hours week, 08:00 – 16:00, Mon-Fri. Overtime available as required by the company.
Liaising closely with Engineering and Production staff, you will provide a technical service to the company by:
- Fabricating pipework to company specifications, for both pressure and non-pressure systems
- Fabricating structural steelwork
- Installing pipework and steelwork, in line with the company permit to work procedures
- Assisting the mechanical technicians with other maintenance activities, in- and out-of-hours
The ideal candidate will be:
- Educated to (ideally) a level 3 apprenticeship standard in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experienced in TIG welding (coded welder preferable)
- Experienced in MIG welding (coded welder not essential)
- Experienced working within the chemical sector or similar
- Able to work as an individual with minimal supervision
- Be able to work on multiple projects at any given time
- Have excellent communication skills
- Health and safety focussed
