Purpose of the Role
To design and develop innovative, high-quality products from concept through to production, ensuring they meet customer requirements, market demand and Company quality standards.
Key Tasks
- Develop product ideas from concept through to production.
- Sketch ideas and develop creative design concepts.
- Create models and prototypes to test and refine designs.
- Conduct market research and gather insights to inform product development
- Visit clients to gather feedback and understand customer needs.
- Develop concepts and product features based upon feedback.
- Work with and understand a range of manufacturing processes during product development.
- Attend and review tooling trials, including potential overseas travel.
- Create 3D CAD data and engineering drawing ready for production.
- Carry out quality testing and evaluation of new products.
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team.
- Contribute to establishing and supporting products in global markets.

- Ensure products meet quality, durability and performance standards.
- Incorporate customer and market feedback into product development.
- Ensure designs are suitable for manufacturing processes and production requirements.

Essential Skills & Attributes

- Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks (3D and 2D drawings).

Desirable
- Industrial or manufacturing work experience.
- Experience in Product Design or Industrial Design
- Understanding of different manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
- Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design or related subject with a minimum of 2:1
Working Hours
Full-time, permanent position.
Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm. (Flextime available)
30-minute lunch break.
Monthly pay in arrears (by the 28th of each month).
