Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Yard Man / 7.5T Lorry Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating flatbed lorries, delivering goods to various locations, and maintaining the yard area. This role requires a professional attitude, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage deliveries efficiently. Prior experience in commercial driving and delivery is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Operate 7.5T flatbed lorries safely and efficiently for daily deliveries and collections
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Assist with yard organisation, including vehicle parking, stock organisation, and general cleanliness
- Follow all health and safety regulations during driving and yard activities
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries across designated areas
Requirements
- Valid driving licence with a minimum of 1 year for commercial vehicles (7.5T)
- Proven experience in driving flatbed lorries or similar commercial vehicles
- Delivery driver experience is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of safe loading and unloading procedures with flatbeds
- Ability to operate basic vehicle maintenance checks and report issues accordingly
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with customers and team members
- A responsible attitude towards safety regulations and traffic laws
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
