Restaurant Manager (Shared Role)
The Chester Fields is a stunning country pub and restaurant situated just outside Chester. Set in beautiful surroundings with a strong reputation for locally sourced, freshly prepared food and exceptional service, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Restaurant Manager to join our leadership team.
Due to the size and nature of our business, this is a shared Restaurant Manager role. You'll work alongside our existing management team, sharing responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the restaurant. This allows for a collaborative approach to leadership, ensuring excellent support for the team while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
We're looking for someone with the drive, initiative and passion to help take the business to the next level. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an ambitious, hands-on management team in a busy, award-winning venue.
This role would suit an experienced Restaurant Manager or Assistant Manager, but we would also welcome applications from a strong Supervisor looking for their next step and the opportunity to progress into management. We are passionate about developing people who demonstrate the right attitude, commitment and enthusiasm for the industry.
The Role
Working closely with the Operations Manager, Head Chef and wider management team, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences whilst leading and developing the front of house team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working alongside the Operations Manager and Head Chef to drive the business forward.
- Sharing responsibility for the day-to-day management of the restaurant and supporting the Bar Manager.
- Leading, motivating and developing the front of house team.
- Supporting and mentoring team members, helping them develop their own skills and progress within the business.
- Planning and organising staff rotas in a cost-effective manner.
- Ensuring every guest receives an outstanding dining experience.
- Setting high service standards and ensuring procedures are consistently followed.
- Working closely with our Sales & Events Manager to ensure the successful delivery of weddings, private functions and events.
- Maintaining excellent standards of health & safety and compliance.
Ideally You'll Have
- Experience in a supervisory, assistant management or restaurant management role.
- Experience working in a busy, fresh-food environment.
- Experience managing large functions or events would be an advantage, although not essential.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- The ability to work on your own initiative while also thriving as part of a management team.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and risk assessments.
- Your own transport, as the venue is not easily accessible by public transport.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary.
- Share of Tronc, paid in addition to your salary.
- Complimentary meal on every shift.
- 20% staff discount when dining off duty.
- A supportive and enjoyable working environment.
- The opportunity to help shape and grow an exciting independent business.
- Genuine opportunities for progression and development within the company.
