Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between care locations.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support care planning and implement individualised care plans effectively
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care
- Support clients with home care tasks including meal preparation and light housekeeping
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a care home. Training will be provided for the right candidate
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with clients
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans
- Valid driving licence is preferred for travel between care settings
- Ability to work flexibly, demonstrating organisation and reliability in delivering quality care
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable individuals
