About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles while ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and vehicle inspections.
- Repair and replace faulty components, including engines, brakes, suspension, steering, exhausts, batteries, and transmissions.
- Perform MOT preparation work and identify any repairs required (if applicable).
- Conduct vehicle health checks and report any additional work required.
- Ensure all repairs are completed efficiently and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Test vehicles after repairs to ensure faults have been rectified.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised workshop.
- Assist with the fitting of vehicle parts and accessories supplied by the business.
- Provide professional advice to customers and colleagues when required.
- Keep up to date with developments in vehicle technology and repair techniques.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, or Automotive Technician.
- Relevant automotive qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent).
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment.
- Good knowledge of modern vehicle systems, including electrical and electronic components.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred or essential depending on business requirements).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
