Forklift Driver (Counterbalance) – Afternoon Shift
Location: Rainham, Essex
Hours: Monday to Friday, 12:00pm – 8:00pm
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Overtime: £15.00 per hour (as required)
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Forklift Driver to join our busy warehouse and logistics team. This is a permanent afternoon shift position, working 12:00pm to 8:00pm, with overtime available and expected when business demands require.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a counterbalance forklift.
- Load and unload vehicles efficiently and safely.
- Load export containers and unload import containers.
- Move, store, and organise stock within the warehouse.
- Carry out daily equipment checks and report any defects.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety and housekeeping.
- Work closely with the warehouse and transport teams to ensure smooth operations.
Essential Requirements
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.
- Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Ability to work the fixed afternoon shift (12:00pm – 8:00pm).
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
- Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- HGV shunter experience.
- Experience loading export containers and unloading import containers.
- Experience working in a fast-paced logistics or distribution environment.
Pay & Benefits
- £13.50 per hour standard rate.
- £15.00 per hour overtime rate.
- £50 per week additional bonus for applicants with HGV shunter experience who carry out shunting duties.
- £500 quarterly quality bonus, subject to qualifying performance criteria.
- Permanent, full-time position.
