Job Title: Research Support Officer
We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Research Support Officer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality research support services across the research funding lifecycle, helping to maximise research income and enable excellent research outcomes. You will work within a dynamic and inclusive professional services environment.
You will be responsible for:

Supporting research funding applications, including costing proposals, ensuring compliance with funder requirements, and assisting with submission processes

Coordinating award mobilisation activities, including grant set-up, approvals, recruitment support and stakeholder liaison
-
Providing ongoing award management support, including project changes, financial monitoring and reporting updates
-
Maintaining accurate records and data within University systems, ensuring timely updates and compliance
-
Delivering a high-quality, responsive service to academic colleagues and collaborating with professional services teams across the Faculty

Essential Criteria:

Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a busy environment

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders

Strong numeracy skills with attention to detail and the ability to work with financial data

Experience of working independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and initiative

Good digital skills, including Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn new systems and processes
Desirable Criteria:

Experience supporting administrative or research-related processes in a complex organisation

Experience working with financial data, budgeting or costing processes

Experience using databases or research management systems

Experience contributing to process improvement or service development

Experience working collaboratively across teams or organisational boundaries
