Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant/Carer to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will assist with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure the wellbeing of service users. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
- Help with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
- Follow individual care plans to deliver tailored support
- Encourage social interaction and participation in activities to promote mental wellbeing
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in client conditions
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals
- Utilise IT systems to update care documentation and schedules
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Basic IT literacy for documentation purposes
- Ability to work flexibly, demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism
- Strong organisational skills to follow care plans accurately
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients and colleagues
