Salary: £40,000 – £47,000 per annum (DOE) + Company Car/Car Allowance
Location: Mansfield Office with UK-Wide Travel

Miller Knight is a leading Principal Contractor specialising in fire remediation and refurbishment projects across the UK. Due to continued growth and an exciting pipeline of upcoming projects, we are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Health & Safety Advisor to join our expanding SHEQ team.

The Role
Reporting directly to the SHEQ Manager, you will provide practical Health & Safety support across multiple projects nationwide. The role involves a combination of office-based work and site visits, with regular travel throughout the UK and occasional overnight stays where required.
You will work closely with operational teams, clients, and subcontractors to promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and champion a positive Health & Safety culture throughout the business.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews across multiple projects.
- Provide practical Health & Safety advice and support to Site Management Teams.
- Produce detailed inspection reports and monitor corrective actions through to completion.
- Review and advise on Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Support the preparation and review of Construction Phase Plans (CPPs).
- Review and advise on COSHH Assessments and Fire Risk Assessments.
- Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 and other relevant legislation.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, site teams, and stakeholders.
- Support the SHEQ Manager with the ongoing development and improvement of company systems, procedures, and best practices.
Essential Requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Health & Safety Advisor or similar role.
- Previous experience within the UK construction and/or fire remediation sector.
- Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong IT skills, including report writing and Microsoft Office.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home when required.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience of Temporary Works processes.
- Experience conducting or reviewing Fire Risk Assessments.
- IOSH Membership (TechIOSH or above).
- Experience working for a Principal Contractor.
