Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen assistants, fostering a collaborative and motivated working environment
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation meet established standards
- Develop innovative menus in line with current trends and customer preferences
- Manage food production schedules to optimise efficiency and minimise waste
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene across all kitchen areas
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Train staff on culinary techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain a positive working environment that encourages creativity and professional growth
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting
- Extensive food production and culinary experience across diverse cuisines
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively
- Demonstrable expertise in food preparation, cooking, and presentation techniques
- Solid background in kitchen operations with a focus on food safety standards
- Previous restaurant experience is essential; hospitality background highly desirable
- Experience in serving or front-of-house roles is advantageous but not mandatory
- Leadership qualities combined with excellent organisational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively
