Turo Turo is a lively Filipino Bar & Grill in the heart of Tooting Broadway, serving bold Filipino food alongside cocktails, music and events.
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter to support our chefs and help keep the kitchen clean, organised and running efficiently.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who works well under pressure, takes pride in maintaining high standards and is willing to support across all areas of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Washing plates, cookware, utensils and kitchen equipment
- Keeping the kitchen, wash-up area and storage areas clean and organised
- Completing regular cleaning tasks throughout and after service
- Supporting chefs with basic food preparation
- Putting away deliveries and rotating stock correctly
- Emptying bins and managing kitchen waste
- Maintaining food hygiene, health and safety standards
- Helping the kitchen team during busy services
- Completing opening and closing cleaning duties
- Assisting with any other reasonable kitchen tasks when required
What We Are Looking For
- Previous kitchen porter or kitchen assistant experience is desirable, but training can be provided
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced kitchen
- Able to work quickly while maintaining cleanliness and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and willingness to support the wider team
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies safely
- Available to work evenings and weekends
- Basic food preparation experience is desirable
- Knowledge of Filipino food or Tagalog speaking is desirable but not essential
