GLL is looking for a Library and Learning Development Manager to work at St Paul's Cray Library and Community Support Centre in Bromley. If you have the skills and ambition to join us as a Library and Learning Development Manager, there's never been a more exciting time. This is more than a Library and Learning Development Manager job, it's a career.
St Paul's Cray Library and Community Support Centre is looking for a Library and Learning Development Manager to work 35.25 hours per week, to be responsible for the effective management and development of St Paul’s Cray Library and Community Support Centre, and the development of learning opportunities across Bromley Libraries. It is one of 14 libraries operated by GLL in Bromley and is situated in the heart of the community. It is a busy community library, giving access to a wide variety of collections and resources including books, technology and a busy children’s section. As Library and Learning Development Manager you will look to improve and promote the library’s services throughout the local community, whether it’s our valued existing users or widening the offering to a new group of customers. You will have a borough-wide learning development remit, identifying learning needs and opportunities, developing programmes and partnerships, coordinating appropriate learning provision and delivery partners, identifying and pursuing potential funding opportunities, and supporting libraries across Bromley to increase access to learning, skills development and digital inclusion.
Alongside delivering core library activities, staff encourage members of the community to bring their ideas to the space and work to support their projects or group activities. Examples include community-led reading groups, poetry events, projects that support groups to connect with schools with library support and a Crotchet and Natter group - all of which have a ‘ripple effect’ on engagement and the building of connections. In these instances, groups are in control of their sessions and staff see their role as ‘making space’ for things to happen.
You would be leading the Community Support Centre team, who are based out of St Paul's Cray Library. We are looking for a manager that is excited to work with partners and other teams on an offer that welcomes the public from across the borough and supports residents in improving their quality of life; building better futures for their families and communities and broadening access to wider support services.
