Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Sheet Metal Worker to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to begin a career in the manufacturing and engineering sector, learning hands-on skills in sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and installation. You’ll receive on-the-job training and support from experienced professionals while working on real-world projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the fabrication, cutting, bending, and forming of sheet metal components
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery under supervision
- Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
- Measure and mark materials accurately
- Assist in assembling and finishing sheet metal products
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures
- Support senior team members in daily workshop tasks and project setups
Requirements:
- A genuine interest in manufacturing, engineering, or metalwork
- Willingness to learn and develop practical skills
- Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
- Punctual, reliable, and safety-conscious
Desirable (but not essential):
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, or Design & Technology
- Previous workshop, construction, or mechanical experience
- Forklift or machinery certifications (if applicable)
- experience in using camduct, laser, spiral duct machine, gorlocker.
