ROLE: Mobile Mechanical Engineer
HOURS: 40 hours Full-time (flexible, including weekends and on-call rota)

We're looking for a Field Service Engineer who will join a well-established, dynamic organisation and support the installation, servicing, and maintenance of mobile processing equipment across the UK and beyond.
SludgeTEK is a well-established, dynamic organisation founded in 2001. The company is privately owned, financially secure, and maintains ISO accreditation in Quality, Environmental Management, and Health & Safety.
We are presently seeking a qualified Service Engineer to join our professional team. In response to anticipated growth and expansion, there may be a requirement for assignments throughout Europe. This challenging and varied role encompasses travel and periods working away from home; a company vehicle and appropriate accommodation will be provided.
Knowledge of process plant operations would be beneficial, as would demonstrable experience working with rotating machinery, pumps, decanter centrifuges, belt presses, and filter presses, although comprehensive training will be provided. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, well-organised, computer literate, confident, and reliable, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
Role Responsibilities:
- Installation, operation, and maintenance of mobile processing equipment
- Execution of service contracts and support for customers' installed plant
- Addressing mechanical breakdowns and conducting workshop repairs
- Preparing risk assessments and method statements prior to service assignments
- Supporting sales activities, supervising subcontractors, and participating in call-out rota and weekend work
Required Qualifications:
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent formal training programme
- Experience with industrial installations, control systems, and basic fault diagnosis (electrical experience advantageous)
- Familiarity with PLC/microprocessor systems and motor drive technologies
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and occasionally internationally
