About Men's Secret
Men's Secret is a growing barbershop located on Rushden High Street, currently looking for talented barbers to join our team. With a prime high street location, an existing walk-in client base, and a professional working environment, we are looking for a skilled and motivated barber to join us on a chair rental basis.
The Opportunity
We are offering a chair rental arrangement with an incremental structure specifically designed to support barbers at any stage of their career. Whether you are newly qualified and building your clientele or an experienced barber looking for a new home, we want to hear from you.
Our incremental chair rental structure:
- Months 1-2: £60 per week
- Months 3-4: £80 per week
- Months 5-6: £120 per week
- Months 7-8: £160 per week
- Months 9-10: £180 per week
- Months 10-12+: £200 per week
You keep 100% of your earnings, set your own prices, manage your own hours, and build your own loyal clientele.

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their craft and their workspace. The ideal candidate will be:
- Qualified to NVQ Level 2 in Barbering or equivalent
- Experienced across a range of cuts including fades, tapers, and scissor work
- Reliable, punctual, and professional at all times
- Client focused with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Committed to maintaining a clean and tidy workstation at all times
- In possession of their own tools and equipment
- Holder of valid barbering insurance - see requirements below
Insurance Requirements
All barbers renting a chair at Men's Secret must hold valid insurance before commencing work. This must include:
- Public Liability Insurance - minimum £1 million cover
- Professional Indemnity Insurance - covering negligence or unsatisfactory services
- Treatment Risk Insurance - covering all barbering treatments offered
Proof of valid insurance must be provided prior to your first day and renewed annually.
Your Responsibilities
- Delivering consistently high quality cuts to every client
- Managing your own appointments through the Booksy platform
- Maintaining a clean and professional workstation at all times
- Representing Men's Secret with professionalism and pride
- Building and maintaining your own loyal client base
- Paying your weekly chair rental in advance as per the agreed schedule
- Maintaining valid insurance at all times and providing renewal documentation annually
- Managing your own earnings, tax, and National Insurance as an independent operator
Important — Please Read
This is a chair rental arrangement and not a salaried or employed position. You will operate as an independent barber, keeping 100% of your earnings while paying an agreed weekly chair rental fee. You will be responsible for managing your own income, tax contributions, and insurance. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated barber looking for independence, flexibility, and the freedom to grow their own business within an established and well-located shop.
Pay: £20.00-£200.00 per day
