Bull & Bar is an independent, fast-growing restaurant and bar in the heart of Street. We pride ourselves on serving great food with genuine hospitality, and we're looking for an experienced, hands-on Assistant Manager to take ownership of the front of house operation.
This role is about creating an exceptional customer experience while ensuring the restaurant runs smoothly every day. You'll work closely with the owner, who oversees the wider business, while taking responsibility for the day-to-day front of house operation.
The Role
We're looking for someone who loves hospitality and enjoys leading from the front. Your primary responsibility is to ensure every customer receives outstanding service and that the front of house team delivers consistently high standards.
You'll be trusted to take control of the day-to-day running of service, supporting the team, solving problems, maintaining standards, and ensuring every shift runs efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the front of house team throughout each service.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the restaurant.
- Support, coach and motivate the front of house team.
- Produce staff rotas and manage labour efficiently.
- Place weekly supplier orders for front of house stock and consumables.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation.
- Open and close the business when required.
- Work closely with the kitchen to ensure smooth service.
- Help recruit, train and develop new team members.
- Maintain licensing, food safety and company standards.

Availability
Our busiest trading periods are evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Regular weekend working is an essential part of this role, and we're looking for someone who wants to be present when the business needs its leaders most.
Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
