About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor looking for your next challenge? Or perhaps you are an Unqualified Teacher, an instructor, or a graduate with deep expertise in a specific subject area like Maths, Science, Music, or Design & Technology (DT)?
Zen Educate is seeking passionate, adaptable individuals to join our team from September. Whether you are looking for the ultimate flexibility of day-to-day supply work, a consistent part-time schedule, or a committed full-time role, we have opportunities tailored to your lifestyle and career goals.
The Role
In this role, you will step into the classroom to deliver pre-planned lessons, ensuring students remain engaged, focused, and on-task. While you won't always be required to plan lessons from scratch, your subject-specific knowledge will be highly valued to help answer students' questions, explain complex concepts, and keep learning moving forward during a teacher's absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Classroom Delivery: Lead classrooms confidently, delivering pre-set work across various year groups, with a primary focus on your subject specialty (Maths, Science, Music, or DT).
- Behaviour Management: Maintain a positive, safe, and productive learning environment using the school’s behaviour policies.
- Student Support: Assist students with their learning, guiding them through tasks and offering subject-specific insights where needed.
- Reporting: Leave clear, constructive feedback for the returning class teacher regarding student progress and behaviour.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven Experience: Prior experience managing classrooms as a Cover Supervisor, Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), or Unqualified Teacher.
- Subject Expertise: A strong background, degree, or practical experience in Maths, Science, Music, or DT.
- Adaptability: The ability to think on your feet, adapt to different classroom dynamics, and hit the ground running.
- Reliability: Excellent communication skills, punctuality, and a professional approach to school environments.
Why Work With Us?
- Ultimate Flexibility: Choose the way you want to work—day-to-day, part-time, or full-time.
- Competitive Pay: Attractive daily rates or salary scales reflecting your experience and subject knowledge.
- Smooth Transition: Ideal for those looking to gain further experience before pursuing formal teacher training (PGCE/School Direct), or for experienced educators wanting a better work-life balance without the pressure of marking and planning.
- Supportive Environments: Access to helpful school staff, structured lesson plans, and ongoing support.
