At CJP Outreach Services, we're proud to provide Outstanding care that is centred around the people we support. We're looking for a compassionate and reliable Female Waking Night Support Worker to join our dedicated team supporting a young woman in the area of Bath.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference by providing reassurance, promoting independence, and ensuring the person's safety and wellbeing throughout the night.
About the Role
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will remain awake for the duration of your shift, providing overnight support in a calm, caring and professional manner.
Our client is a fun-loving young woman with a great personality who enjoys positive, person-centred support. She lives with mild cerebral palsy and Type 1 diabetes. While experience supporting someone with these conditions would be an advantage, full training will be provided for the right person.
She generally sleeps well throughout the night, but there may be occasions when she wakes feeling upset or anxious. During these times, you'll provide gentle reassurance and emotional support to help her settle back to sleep while ensuring she feels safe, comfortable and supported.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
- Kind, caring and compassionate.
- Calm, patient and reassuring.
- Reliable, professional and committed to delivering high-quality care.
- Confident working independently during waking night shifts.
- Willing to learn about Type 1 diabetes management and follow care plans accurately.
Previous experience in care is welcomed, but your values, attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
Your Responsibilities
As part of this role, you will:
- Provide attentive waking night support throughout the shift.
- Monitor the client's wellbeing and respond appropriately to any changes.
- Offer reassurance and emotional support whenever needed.
- Follow person-centred care plans and complete accurate records.
- Promote the client's safety, dignity, choice and independence at all times.
- Work professionally while respecting the client's home and personal routines.
Why Join CJP Outreach Services?
We believe in supporting our colleagues as much as the people we care for. When you join our team, you'll benefit from:
- Employee wellbeing programme, including free face-to-face counselling, helplines and online support.
- Employee Discount Scheme with savings on shopping, fuel and everyday essentials.
- L.O.V.E (Living Our Values Every Day) rewards and recognition programme.
- Random Gifts of Kindness throughout the year.
- In The Loop – our community app connecting colleagues and celebrating success.
- Comprehensive training and ongoing career development opportunities.
- Fully paid DBS.
- Refer a Friend Scheme worth £500 (£250 after 100 hours worked and a further £250 after successful completion of probation).
