Mechanical Shift Lead - Static
Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Call Out: Not initially required, but may be introduced in the future
We are recruiting for a Mechanical Shift Lead to join a leading FM company on a large healthcare contract. This is a hands-on position, combining mechanical maintenance with the day-to-day supervision and support of an established engineering team.
The role would suit an experienced Mechanical Engineer, Lead Engineer or Supervisor looking for a stable Monday–Friday position with further progression opportunities.
The Role
- Leading and supporting a team of Mechanical Engineers
- Covering for the Mechanical Manager when required
- Overseeing PPMs, reactive maintenance and fault finding
- Carrying out spot checks across plant rooms and mechanical equipment
- Supporting with mechanical maintenance and repairs where required
- Ensuring engineering works are completed safely and to a high standard
- Completing relevant compliance and maintenance documentation
Requirements
- Strong mechanical/building services maintenance experience
- Previous Lead or Supervisory experience would be advantageous
- Experienced engineers looking to step up into a leadership role will also be considered
- Plumbing or electrical qualifications/backgrounds can be considered with strong mechanical knowledge
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety, RAMS and site procedures
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
